Sven Vath Information
Sven Vath (October 26, 1964) is a German electronic music producer and DJ. He was born in Obertshausen, West Germany. Sven Väth played a residency at the club Dorian Gray in Frankfurt am Main, Germany, just a year later in 1982. He met Michael Münzing and Luca Anziloti there, two people who would later inspire his career as a music producer. The trio formed Off (Organisation for Fun) in 1985 and released the single "Bad News," he then took to Ibiza and played for the island's most well-known DJs, Alfredo, Pippi, and Cesar.
Off's new tune, "Electrica Salsa," off their 1986 first album, Organisation For Fun, was a game-changer. At 22 years old, Sven became a European pop celebrity thanks to the song's massive success, singing with such luminaries as Vanessa Paradis and Axel Bauer. One million copies were bought. 1989 Off dropped a few songs and their second album, Ask Yourself.
In 1990, they released their last song, "Move Your Body." With Snap!, Münzing and Anziloti have gone on to new endeavors. Väth, then 24 years old, co-founded the Frankfurt nightclub Omen with Michael Münzing and Mattias Martinsohn. Väth had also previously resided there while operating under "Vogue."
