StayC Information
STAYC is a female group from South Korea that High Up Entertainment created in early 2020. Six individuals make up the band: Sieun, Seeun, J., Isa, Sumin, and Yoon. Their first release, a single album titled Star to a Young Culture, came out on November 12, 2020. STAYC is an abbreviation for "Star to a Young Culture," which "reflects the act's aim of dominating pop culture."
With approximately 2.6 million viewers in the first 24 hours after its release on November 12, the song's video for "So Bad" quickly became the album's most famous track. The same day their album was published, it broke the record for most copies sold by a rookie female group in 2020, with over 4,300 copies. The album broke sales records for a debut album by a girl group, selling over 10,000 copies in its first week.
STAYC's second EP, Young-Luv.com, and the title song "Run2U" were released on February 21, 2022. The album debuted at number one on the Gaon Album Chart, making it their first chart-topper. On the Gaon Digital Chart, the single peaked at position #4.
The band's fourth single album, Teddy Bear, was released on February 14, 2023, accompanying the title track. Sales of 269,367 copies in its first week put the album at the top of South Korea's Circle Album Chart. As a single, it reached #4 on the Circle Digital Chart and #5 on the Billboard South Korea Songs charts.
STAYC announced the release date for Teenfresh, their third extended play, on July 23, 2023. Their first international tour, also dubbed Teenfresh, was formally announced on July 27.
