Spokane String Quartet Information
To provide Inland Northwest residents with access to high-quality, live chamber music concerts, the Spokane String Quartet was formed in 1979. For over 40 years, this chamber group has been presenting a concert series that features music from the canonical string quartet repertoire as well as contemporary works, world debuts by local composers, and rarities from the Moldenhauer Archives.
The Quartet performs its regular performance series at two venues in downtown Spokane: the recently renovated Martin Woldson Theater at The Fox (1001) Sprague Avenue and the beautiful and intimate Bing Crosby Theater (901) Sprague Avenue.
Since its incorporation in 1983, the Spokane Chamber Music Association has worked to advance the musical and educational endeavors of the Spokane String Quartet. The SCMA began its educational outreach program in 1998, which involves visiting local secondary schools and youth musical groups to inform students and their families about the concerts and provide them with free and discounted tickets.
