American DJ/producer duo Soul Clap is from Boston. The band has been making music together since 2001 and has produced several EPs, singles, and albums. Their debut LP, titled EFUNK, was out in 2012. Soul Clap "dress up the darker, more abstract corners of the house (and its relative offshoots) with smooth, jazzy trimmings," as XLR8R puts it. The BBC said, "They blend neon-splattered nostalgia with a crisp futurism thanks to their experimental production techniques."
Soul Clap routinely takes on the road, typically with the DJ pair Wolf + Lamb, and has played at major music festivals like Electric Forest, Rhythm & Vines, Detroit Electronic Music Festival, Osheaga, and Decibel. They have remixed songs by Laid Back, Metronomy, Little Dragon, Robert Owens, and DJ Harvey, among others, and have collaborated with performers like Ben Westbeech. In Boston, Soul Clap runs the record label Soul Clap Records, which puts out CDs, LPs, and digital downloads. Crew Love consists of Wolf + Lamb Records, Double Standard Records, and Soul Clap Records for publishing and touring purposes.
