SoMo Information
Joseph Anthony Somers-Morales (September 11, 1987) is an American singer and songwriter. He is professionally known by his stage name, SoMo, born in Austin, Texas. SoMo formed in Denton, Texas, in 2009 and began making cover albums. Drake's Take Care was mashed up in 2011 and became an instant hit, attracting hundreds of millions of new viewers to his channel on YouTube. SoMo started making their songs together in 2012.
His studio time paid off with the release of his debut independent mixtape, My Life, which featured his vocals and composition and fused R&B and pop-soul. On his birthday, September 11, 2013, we gave away the mixtape for free. Concurrently, he launched a "SoMo Sunday" campaign in which he published a new cover video weekly. Republic Records signed SoMo as a partner in October 2013 after being impressed by the results of his solo national tour.
After a second release, his track "Ride" reached #76 on the Billboard Hot 100 in November 2013. SoMo confirmed the April 8 release date for his debut album, "SoMo," on February 12, 2014. SoMo dropped the follow-up to his 2013 mixtape My Life on his 28th birthday, September 11, 2015. SoMo released three singles—"Control" (May 1, 2016), "First" (August 5, 2016), and "Play" (with Maty Noyes)—before releasing his second studio album on January 27, 2017.
