Sheila Escovedo is a famous American singer and percussionist born on December 12, 1957. Her stage name is Sheila E. In the middle of the 1970s, she got her start playing percussion with the George Duke Band.
With the release of her debut album in 1984—featuring her biggest hit, "The Glamorous Life"—Sheila began her solo career, collaborating with Prince, and separated from the group in 1983. Not only that, but her 1985 single "A Love Bizarre" was also a smash. The title of "Queen of Percussion" is occasionally bestowed upon her.
Zimmer co-produced the 2017 film The Boss Baby, and she was a featured drummer on the soundtrack. Stand Up for Drummers, Fred Armisen's 2018 Netflix comedy special, features Sheila E. Gary Clark Jr.'s album This Land features Sheila E. on percussion for many tracks.
On January 28, 2020, at the Staples Center, she was a performer and the music director for the Let's Go Crazy: The Grammy Salute to Prince performance. The airing date was April 21, 2020, on CBS. Her 2020 single "Lemon Cake" debuted on YouTube as a music track on April 17. The music video for "Lemon Cake" by Sheila E. debuted on Rated R&B on May 14, 2020.
