Sheena Shirley Easton (April 27, 1959) is a Scottish actress, singer, and songwriter from Bellshill, Lanarkshire. Sheena Shirley Orr is the birth name given to Sheena. In 1964, she gave her earliest-known public performance at the age of five. Easton sang "Early One Morning" for her uncle and aunt and other relatives at the couple's 25th wedding anniversary celebration. Easton never wished to be a singer until she saw the movie The Way We Were, with Barbra Streisand. Due to her top grades in school, she earned a scholarship to attend the Royal Scottish Academy of Music and Drama.
During her time in the Royal Scottish Academy of Music and Drama, Easton sang a band named "Something Else" at local clubs. "Modern Girl" was the first single by Easton, which was a disco-tinged soft-synth-pop tune. The song was released in the UK before The Big Time aired, hit number 56, and was certified silver. It was followed by her second single, "9 to 5," which went gold and reached number 3.
Some of her other notable singles are "For Your Eyes Only," "We've Got Tonight," "Telefone (Long Distance Love Affair)," and "Strut." Sheena also released many hit studio albums such as Madness, Money & Music (1982), A Private Heaven (1984), Do You (1985), The Lover in Me (1988), What Comes Naturally (1991), No Strings (1993), and Fabulous (2000).
Easton has appeared in many hit films, including Sign o' the Times (1987), Body Bags (1993), Real Ghosts, a.k.a. Haunted Lives: True Ghost Stories (1995), and The Outer Limits (1996).
