Shane Smith and The Saints Information
Shane Smith and The Saints is an Austin, Texas-based American red dirt country band that has released four studio albums since making their debut in 2011. In the ensemble, Songwriter Shane Smith is joined by fiddler Bennett Brown, guitarist Dustin Schaefer, bassist Chase Satterwhite, and drummer Zach Stover. Part of their meteoric rise to fame came via guest spots on the show.
After Shane Smith relocated to Austin, Texas, in 2011 and met fiddler Bennett Brown, the two musicians founded The Saints. Soon after they started performing in Austin, they hit it off with the other band members.
Coast, Shane Smith, and the Saints' first studio album came out in 2013. In Troubador, Texas, the album's tracks were recorded. Lone Star Roads was the band's television appearance the next year.
Their 2021 live album Live from the Desert features two halves: one features electric tracks recorded in the desert, and the other features acoustic tracks recorded in the church in the ghost town of Terlingua. "All I See Is You" peaked at number eight on Billboard's chart for digital song sales in the country genre.
The induction of Greg Abbott as governor of Texas in 2023 featured the band's performance. The governor requested they perform again because of the band's success during the Yellowstone inaugural. Shane Smith & the Saints opened for Willie Nelson at Palo Alto, California's Frost Amphitheater in April 2023, and in May of the same year, they sold out Red Rocks Amphitheatre.
