Scott Cook Information
Scott Cook, an artist from Alberta, moved into a minivan and left his position as a kindergarten teacher in Taiwan in 2007. Since then, he has supported himself as a troubadour by touring almost nonstop across Canada, the US, Europe, Asia, Australia, New Zealand, and other countries. He performs an average of 150 shows and 12 summer festivals annually, and along the way, he has also released seven albums of straightforward, acutely perceptive poetry. His most recent collection, Tangle of Souls, is a 240-page hardcover book with cloth binding that contains road tales and ruminations that are equally introspective and rebellious.
The CD garnered Scott his third Canadian Folk Music Award nomination for English Songwriter of the Year, spending two weeks at #1 on Alberta's provincial community radio network CKUA. The album's second single, "Say Can You See," won first place in the folk category at the 2020 UK Songwriting Competition and the 2020 Great American Song Contest. It was the second most played song on the folk radio lists maintained by Folk Alliance International in 2020. With a stronger conviction than ever that music can transform your life and that your life can change the world, he will tour the record across North America in 2022.
