Saint Asonia Information
Saint Asonia is a Canadian-American rock supergroup. The group's current lineup consists of Cody Watkins, Cale Gontier, Mike Mushek, and Adam Gontier. Speculation had it that the band's lineup would consist of ex-Three Days Grace singer Adam Gontier, ex-Staind guitarist Mike Mushok, ex-Finger Eleven drummer Rich Beddoe, and ex-Dark New Day bassist Corey Lowery. The band's first teaser was released in early May 2015 and featured "25 Top Ten Rock Singles" shared between members, of which 17 were number one.
However, the band's lineup was a mystery until the release of their debut single "Better Place" on May 16. Gontier explained the band's moniker by saying its members are "...more like refugees that just hit it off creatively." Their debut album, for which they hired Johnny K to serve as producer, dropped on July 31, 2015, and was accompanied by news of a summer tour.
On May 16, the band performed live at Rock on the Range for the first time as the main stage's opening act. The band's setlist included not just their debut single but also songs like "Fairy Tale," "Dying Slowly," and "Let Me Live My Life" that they had written themselves, as well as covers of songs by Three Days Grace like "I Hate Everything About You." Staind tracks like "Mudshovel" and "For You" from Mushok's previous band.
