RX Bandits Information
Rx Bandits is an American band. The group's current lineup consists of Christopher Tsagakis, Steve Choi, and Matt Embree. The band started as The Pharmaceutical Bandits and became popular during the 1990s third-wave ska movement. Their debut album, Demo(nstration), was independently released in 1996. Jimmy the Robot from the Aquabats, Chris Colonnier from Jeffries Fan Club, and The Forces of Evil appeared on their 1997 album, Those Damn Bandits.
For two nights in December 2014, the band performed at Pomona, California's The Glasshouse. The entire album Gemini, Her Majesty was performed the first night, and horn players returned for a six-song encore. The second night's program was curated by the audience and featured the horn section again, along with numerous fan favorites from the band's earlier albums, such as The Resignation.
The band went on the road in 2015 to celebrate the 10th anniversary of their album "Juturna" alongside Circa Survive. Chris Tsagakis, the band's drummer, had to sit this out, so Javier Torres took his place on the road. On this tour, the band was a quartet without any horn players. Javier Torres joined Matt Embree and Steve Choi on drums and Matt Fazzi on bass for the band's 2016 "And the Battle Begun" 10th-anniversary tour. The band's longtime bassist Joe Troy didn't make the trip.
