Royal Conservatory Orchestra Information
The Royal Conservatory Orchestra (RCO) of the Glenn Gould School is widely considered one of the top training orchestras in North America, and thanks to TELUS's livestreaming sponsorship, RCO performances may be viewed by interested listeners worldwide. The RCO comprises undergraduate and graduate instrumental students from The Glenn Gould School's Temerty Orchestral Program. Many former members of the RCO can now be found playing in the world's top orchestras.
The RBC Guest Conductor Program brings in four world-renowned conductors to work with the RCO each season, providing an invaluable opportunity for GGS students to hone their craft in a professional setting. Guests, including Tania Miller, Andrei Feher, Johannes Debus, and Gábor Takács-Nagy, will lead the orchestra in a performance at Koerner Hall to round off the week. In addition, the RCO performs at the GGS Spring Opera at Koerner Hall, which features the vocal talents of GGS Price Opera Program students.
