Roberto Carlos da Silva Rocha is a former Brazilian professional football player born on April 10, 1973. He is often known as Roberto Carlos and sometimes as RC3. Some have even gone so far as to call him the best fullback of all time. He finished second in the 1997 FIFA World Player of the Year competition. His lengthy tenure with Real Madrid and consistent appearances for Brazil's national team mostly bring him fame.
He had a promising career as a striker in Brazil, but he played left-back for most of his games. Roberto Carlos spent eleven successful seasons with Real Madrid after joining the club from Inter Milan in 1996. During that time, he appeared in 584 competitions and scored 71 goals.
It wasn't until 1992 that Roberto Carlos won his first cap for Brazil. He participated in three World Cups, helping his side win in 2002 in South Korea and 2002 in Japan. His team made it to the final in 1998 in France. Both in 1998 and 2002, he was selected to the FIFA World Cup All-Star Team.
"The Beautiful Game by R10 and RC3" was an exhibition match in Miami in June 2022 that Roberto Carlos co-hosted with Ronaldinho and included current and former players. A 12–10 victory went to Roberto Carlos' squad. The original match in Orlando, Florida, on June 23, 2023, was postponed after one hour because of pitch invasions and rain.
