Robbie Rivera Information
Roberto "Robbie" Rivera (1973) is a DJ and house music producer. He was born in San Juan, Puerto Rico. At 16, Rivera had already made his way from weddings and school parties to the bars. After finishing high school, Rivera enrolled in music recording classes at The Art Institute of Fort Lauderdale, where he was exposed to various digital audio tools, including the ubiquitous Pro Tools. His first record, "El Sorullo," a Latin house-influenced track, was published while still in school. His career took off after this song became a hit in New York and Miami.
"Bang," a song by Rivera, reached the top of the UK dance list in 2000. In addition to heavy rotation during the 2000 Summer Olympics in Sydney, the song was featured on several dance compilation records. The tune's success earned Rivera appearances on Top of the Pops and Music Television. After working for Max Music and Filtered, Rivera launched his record company, Juicy Records. Do You Want More? was Rivera's debut record, released in France on the independent labels Ultra Records and Independence.
Rivera's branded Juicy-themed DJ shows attract thousands of clubgoers each time they take place; the most famous of these events is Juicy Beach, held at the oceanfront Nikki Beach Club venue in South Beach, Miami, every year during WMC, Winter Music Conference.
