Rick Springfield Information
Richard Springfield (August 23, 1949) is an Australian-American actor and musician born in Guildford, New South Wales. Springfield started playing guitar at the age of 13. While his father was stationed in England from 1958 to 1963, he became a member of several bands there and in Australia. In 1968, bassist Pete Watson asked him to join his band, Rockhouse.
In October, Springfield released his first solo single through Sparmac Records titled "Speak to the Sky." The song reached No. 5 on the Go-Set singles list. Still, Springfield released nine studio albums between 1985 (after TAO) and 2020. The 2020 single "Jessie's Girl 2" by Coheed and Cambria was a follow-up to the 1981 hit "Jessie's Girl" by Springfield and featured a guest appearance from Springfield.
Springfield began hosting a weekly radio show in 2021 titled "Working Class DJ with Rick Springfield" on Sirius XM's "80s on 8" Channel, where he plays a medley of eight songs related to a certain topic. The Morris Springfield Project was created in 2021 when Springfield teamed up with Russell Morris. Jack Chrome and the Darkness Waltz, the newest album from the Morris Springfield Project, was released in October 2021 and debuted at number 34 on the ARIA Albums Chart.
