The Reverend Peyton’s Big Damn Band is an American country blues band based in Brown County, Indiana. The current lineup of the group includes Reverend J. Playton (principal songwriter, lead vocals and guitar), Breezy Peyton (washboard), and Max Senteney (drums). The band also goes by simply Big Damn Band.
Big Damn Band plays more than 250 shows per year at different venues ranging from festivals to bars. The band has continuously toured Europe, Canada, and the United States. The group steadily built its popularity and their albums sales as well. The band's first performance was at the Indiana State Fair Peyton, where they won a stuffed animal named “Big Damn Bear," which helped inspire a name for their group. The Reverend Peyton’s Big Damn Band has played at many blues festivals and even headlined two nights at actor Morgan Freeman’s Ground Zero Blues Club in Clarksdale.
Big Damn Band has also toured as the opening act for Mary Prankster. In June 2008, the band signed a record deal with SideOneDummy Records, a Los-Angeles based record label. On September 18, 2014, the group announced that they had signed a record deal with Yazoo Records. It was a recently revived record label of Shanachie Entertainment. The band has released several notable studio albums throughout their career, including The Pork’n’Beans Collection, Voodoo Cock EP, Big Damn Nation, The Gospel Album, The Whole Fam Damnily, The Wages, Peyton on Patton, Between the Ditches, and So Delicious.
