Red Axes Information
Red Axes is an Israeli indie and electronic music duo. The current lineup of the group consists of Niv Arzi and Dori Sadovnik. When they were both 14, Arzi and Sadovnik started collaborating on music. Three years later, Udi Naor, Yovav (Arzi's brother), and another musician founded the psychedelic rock band Red Cotton.
The band had planned to visit London the year after the release of their debut album, 2006's memory card, but they ended up only making it as far as Amsterdam. The Red Cotton band disbanded after four months, with Arzi and Sadovnik opting to stay in Amsterdam and explore Europe to widen their musical horizons.
Naor and his fellow DJ/Producer co-founded the "Break It!" brand of rave parties in Tel Aviv after spending time in Amsterdam and traveling Europe. In 2010, their self-titled debut EP was published. Crosstown Rebels, Hivern Discs, Permanent Vacation, Correspondent, Life and Death, Dark Entries, Multi Culti, and I'm a Cliche were just a few of the labels Red Axes released on in the following years.
In 2014, Red Axes released their debut studio album, titled Ballad of the Ice, on the I'm a Cliché label. The album had a lot of vocals and guitar, and it featured a cover of "Bela Lugosi's Dead" by Bauhaus and other collaborations with Abro. After their album "Ballad of Ice" was released, the duo went on a world tour, where they became a hit on dance floors and in the charts all over the globe.
