Rayland Baxter is an alternative country musician who was born in Nashville, Tennessee. He is the son of a famous musician, Bucky Baxter. Baxter was a very good lacrosse player playing midfielder during high school and attended the Severn School in Maryland. Later, he went to the Suffield Academy. He has also played Division I Lacrosse at Loyola University Maryland. Baxter relocated to Colorado and began playing open mics at Gold Pan Saloon. He moved back to Nashville after starting his music career to pursue it full-time.
Rayland Baxter signed a record deal with ATO Records. He began performing as a musician in 2010 when he was featured on the song entitled “Shanghai Cigarettes” by Caitlin Rose, a country musician. Baxter released his full-length debut album in 2012 entitled Feathers & Fishhooks. In 2013, he came up with an EP entitled Ashkelon on the same record label. The title of the EP was named after the town of Ashkelon in Israel.
Baxter released his second studio album entitled “Imaginary Man” on August 14, 2015. His third full-length album, Wide Awake, was released in 2018. In 2019, he released an album of seven Mac Miller cover songs entitled “Good Mmornin.”
