Psychedelic Furs Information
The Psychedelic Furs is a British new wave band that was founded in 1977 in London. The current lineup of the group includes Richard Butler (vocals), Tim Butler (bass), Mars Williams (saxophone), Paul Garisto (drums), Amanda Kramer (keyboards), and Rich Good (guitars). The group began rehearsing in the family front room of Richard Butler, as told by him. In March 1980, the band released its self-titled debut album, produced by Steve Lillywhite.
In 1981, The Psychedelic released their second album entitled "Talk Talk Talk" that brought them major success in the United States. The album helped the band reach the US Billboard 200 chart. It had also yielded two charting singles that are named as "Pretty in Pink" and "Dumb Waiters." In the early 1990s, the band took a break; however, since their reformation in 2001, the group has been touring worldwide to date.
Stranger Things (Netflix hit series) featured a song of the Psychedelic Furs entitled "The Ghost In You" in it's the second season. The song was also included on the Sony Music companion to the season named "Stranger Things: Music from the Netflix Original Series." Another hit single by the band "Love My Way" was played numerous times on the film Call Me By Your Name.
The Psychedelic Furs have worked with different record labels such as Columbia, Sony Music, Legacy, and Cooking Vinyl. The band's studio albums include Forever Now (1982), Mirror Moves (1984), and Midnight to Midnight (1987).
