Poison Information
Poison is an American rock band that is also known as Paris. The group was founded in 1983 in Mechanicsburg, Pennsylvania. Poison currently consists of lead vocalist Bret Michaels, bassist Bobby Dall, and drummer Rikki Rockett whereas some of the former members are Matt Smith, Richie Kotzen, and Blues Saraceno. The music of the band is described as glam metal, hard-rock, and heavy metal type. Poison earned some massive commercial success in the mid-1980s through the mid-1990s. The group has sold 45 million records in total.
Poison began its career by performing in the famous local clubs. Later, the band released its debut album entitled Look What the Cat Dragged In, released on August 2, 1986. The album included a few hit songs; "Talk Dirty to Me," "I Want Action," "Cry Tough," and "I Won't Forget You." It became the biggest-selling-album in Enigma's history. The second album by Poison was Open Up and Say...Ahh!, which was released on May 21, 1988, which was followed by the band's biggest hit, "Every Rose Has Its Thorn."
Some of the other hit discographies by Poison are "Nothin' but a Good Time," "Fallen Angel," cover "Your Mama Don't Dance," Flesh & Blood (1990), Native Tongue (1993), Crack a Smile... and More! (2000), and Hollyweird (2002). The band also did many successful past tours including Look What the Cat Dragged In Tour, Flesh & Blood World Tour, Native Tongue World Tour, 1999 Reunion Tour, Hollyweird World Tour, Rock the Nation World Tour, Live, Raw & Uncut Summer Tour, and the list goes on.
Poison won nine Metal Edge Readers' Choice Awards and was nominated twice for American Music Awards in 1991.
