Peter Bradley Adams Information
Peter Bradley Adams of Birmingham, Alabama, is a folk-pop Americana singer-songwriter. Adams began playing piano at the age of 6 and continued studying throughout high school at Deerfield Academy in Deerfield, Massachusetts, as well as in college. He has also worked with composer Michael Kapsner while he was studying abroad in Freiburg, Germany. Adams was focused on piano, organ, and music composition, but his experience in Germany inspired Adams to continue his musical studies no matter what. He attended the University of the South in Sewanee, Tennessee, and graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Music. Later on, he earned a master's degree in Music Composition from the University of Alabama's School of Music in Tuscaloosa.
In the mid-1990s, Adams studied film scoring at USC Thornton School of Music's Scoring for Motion Pictures and Television (SMPTV) program. He also worked as a freelance score composer for film and television until he formed Eastmountainsouth in 2001. The self-titled debut album was released in 2003. On September 24, 2003, Eastmountainsouth performed on Late Night with Conan O'Brien. The last show by the band was in September of 2004 at the Hollywood Bowl with Shelby Lynne and Lyle Lovett. Soon after, Adams went on to pursue his solo career.
Adams released a limited edition solo EP in 2005. A few of his other studio albums as a solo artist are Gather Up (2006), Leavetaking (2008), Traces (2009), Between Us (2011), The Mighty Storm (2014), and A Face Like Mine (2017).
