Periphery Information
Periphery is one of the American progressive metal bands which is based in Washington, D.C. This band was formed in 2005 by Misha Mansoor (Guitarist). The band’s musical style is of progressive metalcore, progressive metal, and djent. Periphery is declared to be the part of the pioneer gang of the djent movement (within the progressive metal style). The active band members include Mark Holcomb, Misha Mansoor (guitarist), Jake Bowen, and Matt Halpern (drummer).
The first self-titled debut album by this band was released on April 20, 2010, via Sumerian Records and titled “Periphery.” It reached no.128 on the Billboard Top 200 while no.2 on the chart of Billboard Heatseekers. The first headline tour by the band was "League Of Extraordinary Gentlemen Tour." Periphery also released an additional five albums followed by their self-titled debut, including; the double album Juggernaut: Alpha and Omega, Periphery II: This Time It's Personal, Periphery III: Select Difficulty, and the last one, Periphery IV: Hail Stan.
Periphery has also released two extended plays that are Clear and Icarus EP. The year of 2008 was an extensively touring year for the band in support of some well-known artists such as Dream Theater, Emmure, Animals as Leaders, Between the Buried and Me, and a few more. The band also released cover for the song “One” by Metallica. The first single by the band from their Icarus EP was "Frak the Gods" which was released on March 24, 2011. They were also the opening act for January 2012, A Dramatic Turn of Events Tour in Dream Theater.
Some of the famous singles by the Periphery are "Jetpacks Was Yes!", "Make Total Destroy," "The Way the News Goes...", "Garden in the Bones," and the list goes on.
