Matthew Lucas is better known by his alias Peekaboo, is an American dubstep producer from Michigan. His music type is defined as freeform bass, space bass, dubstep. While being a freshman in high school, Lucas got inspiration from the song "Kill Everybody" by Skrillex. He started to produce a variety of genres, from progressive house to drum and bass. Lucas attended Western Michigan University but later moved to Los Angeles in 2017.
Lucas self-released his debut 3-track extended play entitled Revenge in April 2017. He also released a single titled "Wobbly" at this time. American DJ and record producer Bassnectar appreciated the track, and he contacted Lucas to express his musical appreciation. Lucas, later on, collaborated with Bassnectar to release the song "Disrupt The System." He also collaborated with G-Rex for the remix of the song "Witch Doctor." It was featured on the remix album Invasion Remixes.
A few of the other notable self-releases by Lucas are "U Don't Know Me," on April 11, 2018, extended play titled Imposters on May 4, 2018, Maniac EP, Babatunde Remix EP, and Wrecking Ball EP. He also released some hit singles such as Aftermath, Regret, Sinister, Filthy Animal, Disrupt the System, B.T.F.U., U Don't Know Me, Babatunde, Illusion, Colossal, and Hands Up!.
Lucas has been listed by many online electronic music news publications and bloggers as one of several artists to watch in the coming years. He has worked with many successful record labels, including Submerged Music, Jadu Dala, and Big Tooth Records.
