PEARS Information
Pears is an American hardcore punk band. The current lineup consists of Jarret Nathan (drums), Erich Goodyear (backing vocals and drums), Brian Pretus (backing vocals and drums), and Zach Quinn (vocals). After breaking up from The Lollies the previous year, Zach Quinn and Brian Pretus started their new band in early 2014. Quinn and Pretus recruited Alex Talbot, a previous bandmate, to play bass, and John Bourgeois, a friend, to play drums.
Ryan Young was impressed by the band's debut performance on Mardi Gras Day with Epitaph Records' act Off With Their Heads. After trying out a couple of drummers, including Bourgeois (who played on the Go to Prison album) and Tim Harman (who accompanied the band on their first tour), PEARS settled on Jarret Nathan, formerly of the Philadelphia band Push Ups. PEARS' first album, Go To Prison, was self-released before being distributed by Anxious and Angry Records on vinyl.
After the album was released in Europe by German punk label Gunner Records, the band toured extensively across the continent, first with Red City Radio and then with Dwarves, Teenage Bottlerocket, Off With Their Heads, Direct Hit, Lagwagon, and The Suicide Machines. The band released their second album, Green Star, via Fat Wreck Chords on April 1, 2016. In addition to their work with the band, members Zach Quinn, Erich Goodyear, and Brian Pretus are also in the band Little Bags.
