Pavielle Information
PaviElle is a phenomenal artist who works in various mediums, and she has won both the Upper Midwest Emmy Award and the Sage Award. Her powerful voice has earned her a reputation, and she often performs with a six-piece band that is just as formidable. PaviElle was selected as the "Best R&B Vocalist of 2015" by the readers of the Minneapolis City Pages. In addition, her band was selected as one of First Avenue's Best New Bands of 2015, and she was a featured musician on TPT's "Lowertown Line" in 2015.
The historically black area of Rondo in St. Paul, Minnesota, is where PaviElle was born and raised. As a teenager, she began honing her craft at the Penumbra Theatre and continued her training with the collaborative EduPoetic Enyerbrainment. She claims that she wants to create music that celebrates and represents the Black aesthetic and that she grew up in a home where music played a significant role.
PaviElle always has a method in which she wants her songs to "swing," This freestyle feeling, in the scatting and vocalizing, adds a millennial's heart-born, current vision to a sound that is traditionally associated with soul music.
