Park Hye-Jin Information
Park Hye Jin is a South Korean-born American rapper, singer, DJ, and producer who resides in Los Angeles after living in Melbourne and London. Her dreamy minimal house and techno productions, as well as faultless DJ sets, have swiftly earned her fans all over the world and spawned a flourishing touring career.
Hye-Jin began experimenting with her rapping and singing in 2015, and in 2017 she learned to DJ before crafting her productions in 2018. At the same time, she tried to get warm-up gigs at some of the local underground electronic clubs in Seoul's Itaewon neighborhood, but her lack of contacts kept those doors locked.
In 2018, she released her debut EP, "IF U WANT IT." It was quickly picked up by Pitchfork, who hailed her songs as "an ocean of subtle sensations and exquisitely complicated house music," with additional support from Bandcamp, i-D, Hypebeast, Boiler Room, FADER, Dazed, and a slew of other publications. A collaborative tune on NYC producer Baltra's 2019 album "Ted" would be her sole other contribution for the past year, on top of an increasingly busy touring schedule.
On June 26th, 2020, Ninja Tune released Park Hye Jin's new EP, "How can I." Pitchfork, DAZED, NME, Mixmag, Hypebeast, Billboard, Guardian, Rolling Stone, FADER, Nylon, and many other publications have all praised the album.
