Orange Goblin Information
Orange Goblin is an English heavy metal band. The group's current lineup consists of Harry Armstrong, Chris Turner, Joe Hoare, and Ben Ward. Rhythm guitarist Pete O'Malley and original bassist Martyn Millard established Orange Goblin in 1995. They were then known as Our Haunted Kingdom. After releasing a split 7" with Electric Wizard in 1996 on Rise Above Records under the name Electric Wizard/Our Haunted Kingdom, the band changed their name to Orange Goblin.
Frequencies from Planet Ten (1997), Time Travelling Blues (1998), and The Big Black (2000), Orange Goblin's first three studio albums, were in the stoner metal and doom metal genres and have also been described as space rock. However, beginning with 2002's Coup de Grace, the band began to add punk rock, hard rock, and other influences to their sound. The 2004 release of Thieving from the House of God featured a cover of "Just Got Paid" by ZZ Top.
Rising Above Records put out all five of their albums. The band never replaced O'Malley after he left in 2004 to pursue a solo music career. Their album Healing Through Fire was released on Mayan/Sanctuary Records in 2007. Candlelight Records was announced as the band's new label in 2008. In May 2009, two brand-new tracks were released. However, the corresponding album wasn't released until 2012.
