Opiuo Information
Opiuo is an Australian musician living in Melbourne. He is a member of the music group "The Opiuo Band" and makes electronic music. Opiuo is a New Zealander by birth. Opiuo was born and reared in New Zealand, where he first developed an interest in music while he was in his teens. Drum & Bass and Trance music were his main influences at the time. He finally developed his distinct sound as he explored music more and more.
Opiuo took out a loan from his parents to focus entirely on music for a year. He eventually saved up enough money to repay them after becoming popular and performing many concerts. Opiuo's sound has been described as Glitch hop, but he prefers to call it "funkadelic bass music." Opiuo formed The Opiuo Band with several of his buddies in the mid-2010s. The group released two albums and traveled extensively worldwide as a unit.
On June 1, 2009, Opiuo released his first EP, Physical Symptoms. He's released a continuous stream of music, such as the Butternut Slap EP Series in 2012 and Meraki in 2014. In June of 2016, he released his most recent album, Omniversal.
