Omnium Gatherum Information
Omnium Gatherum is a five-piece melodic death metal band. The current lineup of the group consists of Markus Vanhala (lead guitar), Aapo Koivisto (keyboards and backing vocals), Jukka Pelkonene (lead vocals), Mikko Kivisto (bass), Atte Pesonen (drums), and Nick Cordle (rhythm guitar). After putting out four demos, they were picked up by Rage of Achilles, and in April of 2003, they released their debut full-length album, "Spirits And August Light," which garnered some notice from the underground metal community and the press.
After that, in the fall of 2004, the band inked a deal with big metal label Nuclear Blast to release their second album, "Years In Waste." This one was significantly more technically advanced and progressive than their previous albums. Longtime vocalist Antti Filppu was replaced by Jukka Pelkonen (called J) in the spring of 2006. After a UK tour and joining Candlelight Records, in April 2007, OG released their debut album, "Stuck Here On Snakes Way," which included J on vocals. It debuted at No. 31 on the Finnish album chart, and the band afterward went on tour with Dark Tranquillity, Caliban, and Entombed, in addition to playing several headline shows across Finland.
