Nuclear Assault Information
Nuclear Assault is a thrash metal band. The current lineup of the group consists of Eric Burke (lead guitar), Dan Liker (backing vocals and bass), and John Connelly (rhythm guitar and lead vocals). Along with bands like Overkill, Whiplash, Toxik, Carnivore, and Anthrax, they helped pioneer the East Coast thrash metal scene in the mid-to-late-1980s.
Nuclear Assault, formed in the early 1980s, recorded five studio albums and tirelessly toured until the early 1990s before calling it quits in 1995. Briefly getting back together in 1997, the band played together again in 2002. Including their two live albums, four extended plays, and one compilation album, Nuclear Assault has released a total of six studio albums. Survive (1988) and Handle with Care (1989) reached Nos. 145 and 126 on the Billboard 200 albums chart are their two most successful albums.
There has not been a full-length studio album from the band since 2005's Third World Genocide; though 2015's EP Pounder had four new songs, they have continued to play live on an ad hoc basis. Duboys quit the band shortly after the show and was replaced by Glenn Evans, previously of the New Jersey band T.T. Quick.
