Northwest Florida Symphony Orchestra Information
The premier professional orchestra on the Emerald Coast is the Northwest Florida Symphony Orchestra. The stunning Mattie Kelly Arts Center's main stage hosts an annual concert series featuring the 65-piece band from September through April. Classical, family, pop, and educational concerts are performed, and both up-and-coming local artists and globally renowned guest soloists are featured.
The NFSO holds the annual John Leatherwood Concerto Competition. The winners get scholarships for their performances in the junior, high school, and college divisions and the chance to join the orchestra for the annual Stars of Tomorrow event. The orchestra also participates in various educational and community outreach programs, such as the Carnegie Hall Link-Up performances, which connect to schools in two nearby counties and host hundreds of kids at an interactive concert at the Mattie Kelly Arts Center each year.
