Northlane Information
Northlane is an Australian heavy metal band. The group's current lineup consists of Marcus Bridge, Nic Pettersen, Josh Smith, and Jon Deiley. In 2009, Sydney natives Jon Deiley (lead guitar), Brendan Derby (drums and percussion), Adrian Fitipaldes (lead vocals), Alex Milovic (bass guitar), and Josh Smith (rhythm guitar) got together to form the metalcore band Northlane. They were inspired by the song "North Lane" by the British metalcore band Architects, released in 2007.
According to 2013's Fitipaldes, the band formed when Deiley and Milovic "pretty much, through the internet and common interest," to begin writing music together. He elaborated, "Once they had the songs down, they started recruiting members." Their first EP, Hollow Existence, featured six songs and was released in January 2010; in January 2013, they toured regional Australia to promote their new single, "Worldeater," with opening artists In Hearts Wake and Endless Heights.
The band released the single "Clockwork" and its accompanying music video on March 18, 2021. This year's Oceanic Nationals eSports League has selected the single as the game's official theme song for Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six Siege. The band dropped the lead single "Echo Chamber" and its accompanying music video on November 10 in anticipation of the April 22 release of their sixth studio album, Obsidian.
