North Charleston Pops Information
The North Charleston POPS! is a professional orchestra founded on June 12, 2012. The orchestra specializes in popular music with a combination of singers, dancers, video, and orchestra for a wholesome experience.
The North Charleston POPS! consists of 56 professional musicians including the following Principal players; Concertmaster: C. Gerome Stewart, Violin II: Matthew Peebles, Viola: Robbi Kenney, Cello: Elizabeth Murphy, String Bass: Roman Pekar, Flute: Tacy Edwards, Oboe: Rebecca Testerman, Clarinet: Philip Lipton, Bassoon: Susan Barber, Horn: Debra Sherrill-Ward, Trumpet: Robert Murray, Trombone: Ben Dickinson, Tuba: Justin Clarkson, Percussion: Michael Haldeman, Timpani: Michael Greer, and Harp: Elisabeth Gray McKeachie.
The music director for the group is Jeffrey Reed. North Charleston POPS! is highly dedicated to bringing the music of a popular nature to the country. The orchestra is supported by corporate and individual donations, subscription sales, grants, and other business. Significant support has been granted by the Gaylord and Dorothy Donnelley Foundation, the South Carolina Arts Council and the Coastal Community Foundation.
Whether it be light classical, broadway, rock 'n roll, film music, country or any other genre, the orchestra members pledge that their concerts are all carefully crafted and will blow you away.
