New Jersey Symphony Orchestra Information
The New Jersey Symphony Orchestra, often shortened to NJSO, is a symphony orchestra founded in 1922 and is based in the state of New Jersey. Philip James founded the orchestra, which used to perform at Newark Symphony Hall. This orchestra is the state orchestra of New Jersey that is famous for performing concert series in 6 venues all across the US. It is the resident orchestra of the New Jersey Performing Arts Center (NJPAC), which is located in Newark, New Jersey. Some of the concert halls for the orchestra are Bergen Performing Arts Center (Englewood), Richardson Auditorium (Princeton), Mayo PAC (Morristown), and Count Basie Theatre (Red Bank).
Currently, the New Jersey Symphony Orchestra presents classical, pops and family concerts at various venues scattered in six cities across the nation. The orchestra previously performed a concert series at the War Memorial in Trenton. It also plays summer concerts at many different venues in New Jersey, such as Giralda Farms (Madison), Echo Lake Park (Union County), Branch Brook Park (Newark), Meadowland Park (South Orange), and Mercer County Park (Mercer County).
