American singer-songwriter Nessa Barrett was born on August 6, 2002, in Galloway Township, New Jersey. She began posting videos on TikTok and ended up getting a recording contract with Warner Records. In 2020, she released her debut single, 'Pain,' and in 2021, her first EP, 'Pretty Poison.'
Since 2022, Barrett has released her debut studio album, Young Forever, which also includes the singles "Die First" and "Madhouse," to name a few. The album explores mental health and other personal struggles. In 2023, she followed up her musical career with the release of the EP Hell Is a Teenage Girl, complete with tracks such as "Bang Bang!" and "American Jesus."
Barrett released her second studio album 'Aftercare' in November 2024 before releasing the lead single 'Passenger Princess' in July 2024. The album features her as a pop and rock hybrid. Barrett has never been shy about her mental health issues—she has even battled an eating disorder and is in recovery.
Barrett has said that artists like Arctic Monkeys, Melanie Martinez, Lana Del Rey, and The Neighbourhood have shaped her musical style and sound.
