Morgan Evans (April 25, 1985) is an Australian country music singer and songwriter. He was born in Newcastle, New South Wales. Evans had his debut performance when he was only 13 years old. While a student at Warners Bay High School, he was a member of the rock trio Extortion, which in 2002 took first place in the state's Youthrock competition for high school bands. After some time, Extortion changed its name to Solver. To date (2006), Evans has handled lead vocals and guitar for the band, with Tom on bass and a friend named Nicholas Cook on drums. "Artist of the Year" and "Best Rock Act" were awarded to the band at the 2006 MusicOZ Awards.
Evans's second EP, Live Each Day, was published by Warner Music Australasia in January 2012. Another EP, titled While We're Young, was released in August of the same year. Evans toured Australia with both Taylor Swift and Thirsty Merc. He won Best New Oz Artist at the 2013 CMC Music Awards.
In March 2014, Evans released his first proper studio album, simply Evans. The album reached number 20 on Australia's ARIA Albums Chart. Male Artist of the Year, Oz Artist of the Year, and Best Australian Video of the Year were all his 2014 CMC Music Awards awards. He had a song called "Like a Tornado" that made the 2014 Vanda and Young Songwriting Competition's shortlist.
