Morehouse is a historically black school in Atlanta, Georgia. Founded in the middle of the 19th century, Morehouse is the largest liberal arts college, the only one in the nation. The school's notable graduates are Martin Luther King Jr. and Spike Lee. President David Thomas oversees the institution, with around 2,200 students enrolled annually.
The Maroon Tigers are the official name of Morehouse College's athletic programs. They are members of the Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference and participate in NCAA Division II. Their home games are played at B.T. Harvey Stadium in Atlanta, and their colors are white and red throughout the franchise.
Coach Rich Freeman guided the club to a 7-3 record and a high Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference ranking in 2007. Freeman watched the Tigers make their NCAA Division II playoff debut in 2010. Following a slight dip in the early 2010s, the Tigers recovered their momentum with a 6-4 season in 2014 and a 7-3 season in 2018.
