Monte Montgomery Information
Monte Patrick Montgomery (born August 11, 1966) is an American singer, songwriter, and guitarist from Birmingham, Alabama, who moved to San Antonio, Texas, at 13. Montgomery’s music is defined as blues, pop-rock, and acoustic rock. He first gained notoriety in 1999 when she performed on an episode of the PBS series entitled Austin City Limits.
Guitar Player Magazine named Montgomery as one of the “Top 50 All-Time Greatest Guitar Players”. He also won the “Best Acoustic Guitar Player” award at the Austin Chronicle’s Austin Music Awards seven years in a row. He composed the ABC TV series entitled the Last Man Standing and wrote music for Arc’s criminal drama in 2006. He also appeared on the music show Live From Daryl’s House in 2008.
In 2004, a model guitar was created by Alvarez Guitars named MMY1 Monte Montgomery Signature Guitar based on Montgomery’s 1987 Alvarez-Yairi DY62C Acoustic-Electric Guitar. Some of the notable studio albums by Montgomery are Monte Montgomery [EP] (1990), Lost & Found (1993), 1st & Repair (1998), Mirror (1999), Wishing Well (2001), The Story Of Love (2003), Architect (2004), Monte Montgomery (2008), Tethered (2012), Dragonfly (2016), and A Call To Arms (2019).
Live at the Caravan of Dreams (2002), New & Approved (2003), and At WorkPlay (2005) are three live albums by Montgomery, while At WorkPlay (2005) is his live DVD.
