Molly Healey Information
Molly Healey is an American cellist, guitarist, violinist, and singer-songwriter based in Springfield, Missouri. Healey is originally from Jefferson City but moved to Springfield to attend Missouri State University and earned her Master of Arts degree in Music. Right after graduation, Healey started experimenting with improvisational fiddle music. Her hobby blossomed into a successful career as a touring fiddle player and private instructor. Since then, she has been traveling worldwide with many notable bands, including Cornmeal, Andy Frasco and the UN, and Big Smith.
Molly Healy started to perform in 2012 with the Dares. The response from both the audience and band members was extremely enthusiastic on her shows. Her cello, fiddle, and background vocals added tremendous depth and quality to the band’s sound. After many prominent appearances on other artists’ recordings, Healey finally released her first solo album, Nightbirds, in 2015. It was followed by another album named Human, released in December of 2017.
Healey also contributed to the recording of Off the Beaten Path, which came out in 2017. Apart from being a very busy working musician, Healey never limited her live performances as a special guest with the Dares. She performs with them as often as her packed schedule allows.
