Michael Brun Information
Michael Brun (May 19, 1992) is a Haitian record producer and DJ. He was born in Port-au-Prince, Haiti. He originally planned on becoming a doctor. He started dabbling in DJing and making techno music when he was 15. He pursued a pre-med education at Culver Military Academy in Indiana before transferring to Davidson College in North Carolina.
Brun pioneered the genre of electronic music in his native Haiti. Shades of Grey, a 4-song single, was published on S2 Records on June 29, 2011. On December 21, 2011, Brun issued "Dawn," a track primarily styled as progressive house, on Dutch DJ Hardwell's Revealed Recordings. The following song, "Rise," was released by Dirty South and his label Phazing Records after signing Brun. In Miami, Brun accompanied Dirty South on tour. Around this time, he chose to take a break from medical school to pursue a career as a musician and perform at major festivals like Coachella and Electric Daisy Carnival.
Brun collaborated with Dirty South and Special Features on the tracks "Rift" and "Synergy," both of which were published in 2012. Brun published his first extended play, Gravity, in September of 2013; it quickly rose to the number two spot on the Beatport charts. Alicia Keys, Calvin Harris, and Armin van Buuren were just a few of the performers whose songs he remixed in 2013.
