Max Stalling Information
Max Stalling is a country music singer and songwriter from Uvalde, Texas. Before attending kindergarten, he moved to Crystal City and attended high school in Carrizo Springs. Stalling attended Texas A&M University and earned a master's degree in Food Science. Later on, he entered the corporate world and moved to Dallas, where he worked in product development for Frito-Lay.
Stalling began writing songs, recording albums, and developing his musical style in Dallas. According to him, his inspirations were artists such as Townes Van Zandt, Guy Clark, and Robert Earl Keen. Eventually, he began to perform with the backing of his band consisting of Bryce Clarke on nylon-string guitar as well as electric guitar and mandolin, Jeff Howe on drums and percussion, and Jason Steinsultz on stand-up and electric bass. Stalling is well-known for playing about 150 shows a year. Currently, he is also in the third year of a Budweiser sponsorship and previous member of the Board of Governors for the Texas Chapter of The National Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences.
Home to You is one of the Stalling's most successful albums, which was released on August 17, 2010. Grammy winner Lloyd Maines produced the album, and it earned both the Best Male Vocal and the Best Album nomination for the 2011 LoneStarMusic Awards. "I Ain't Drinking Alone" was the first single included in the album that hit number fourteen on the Radio Free Texas 100 Most Requested Songs of 2010 list.
Some of the other notable albums by Stalling are Comfort In the Curves in 1999, Wide Afternoon in 2000, Topaz City in 2008, and One of the Ways in 2002.
