In the two short years since Redwined released Max McNown's lead EP, Songs of Meantime, the singer-songwriter from Bend, Oregon, has stormed into the music industry. By 2023 he had reached viral stardom with his smash "A Lot More Free" and ended up on the Billboard Emerging Artist chart. However, his first song, 'Wandering,' from his debut album, Wandering, was a fan favorite for that reason: an assortment of folk and folk-pop storytelling with a heavier heart.
Willfully Blind, however, was McNown's first EP in 2024, an outing that demonstrated he was a grown man as a songwriter. Must-have tracks include 'Fishing Line' and 'Snowman'; the EP goes in-depth on love, loss, and self-reflection, and 'Snowman' is one of his rawness to date. Major outlets like American Songwriter and People Magazine have acclaimed McNown's storytelling acumen and introspective lyrics, keeping fans coming for him.
It also marks McNown's first-ever headlining tour, and more than half of the shows are already sold out, including the first night, in shows in major cities such as Seattle and Los Angeles. He's been supporting well-known artists such as Corey Kent and Sam Barber, which has helped further mature his stage presence and audience.
