Matthew Morrison Information
Matthew James Morrison (October 30, 1978) is an American dancer, actor, singer, and songwriter from Fort Ord, California. He is also known as Matt Morrison, who was raised in Chico, having English Scottish ancestry. Morrison was a part of Buena Park Youth theater (Buena Park), the Collaborative Arts Project 21 (CAP21), and the Orange County High School of the Arts during his time at the Los Alamitos High School campus. He also performed a musical with actress Jodie Sweetin during his education. Later on, Morrison attended the New York University’s Tisch School of the Arts for two years and dropped out to join Footloose’s Broadway adaptation.
Morrison appeared on Late Show with David Letterman and Total Request Live during his education in 1999. He was one of the five members of “Fresh Step,” a fictional parody boy band. Later in 2001, he joined the band LMNT and appeared briefly in a revival of The Rocky Horror Show (2002). Morrison starred in Hairspray’s original cast as Link Larkin and played the role of Fabrizio Nacarelli in The Light in the Piazza. He also starred in A Naked Girl on the Appian Way, South Pacific, Finding Neverland, Catch Me If You Can, and many more.
Morrison also appeared in many television shows such as Once Upon a Mattress, As the World Turns, The Cleveland Show, and Hollywood Game Night. Some of the hit films that starred Morrison are I Think I Love My Wife and What to Expect When You’re Expecting.
Matthew James Morrison won many awards such as Satellite Awards 2009, Screen Actors Guild Award 2009, and a TV Land Award 2001.
