Mary Fahl Information
Mary Fahl (July 1, 1958) is an American actress, songwriter, and singer who is well-known for her work on the October Project in the mid-1990s. She was born in Rockland Country, New York, and used to sing along with her older siblings as a child. Her first makeshift recording studio was her childhood bathroom. She attended Albertus Magnus High School and completed her graduation from North Rockland High School. Later on, Fahl attended McGill University, where she began studying medieval literature.
Fahl briefly considered attending Columbia University for a post-grad pre-med program, but when she returned to New York City, she met lyricist Julie Flanders through a mutual friend. Flanders introduced Fahl to composer Emil Adler. The two of them later found guitarist Dave Sabatino. Altogether, they formed the band “October Project” where Fahl became the lead singer of the group.
Fahl stayed with the group for a few years before leaving. After leaving, she began working in the commercial world to earn a living. She voiced spots for Fisher-Price, Russell Atletic, Crystal Light, and Audi.
Fahl also embarked on a solo career after leaving the October Project and can write her songs as a solo artist. Fahl has worked with a few record labels such as Epic, Sony Classical, and V2. Her notable solo albums include Love & Gravity (2014), Mary Fahl Live at the Mauch Chunk Opera House (Disc 1) (2014), and Winter Songs & Carols (2019).
