Marty Stuart Information
John Marty Stuart (September 30, 1958) is a musician, singer, and composer specializing in country and bluegrass music. He was born in Philadelphia, Mississippi. Since 1968, Stuart has been performing, first as a member of Johnny Cash's road band, then on tour with Lester Flatt. He began his solo career in the early 1980s. He has a unique stage wardrobe, often collaborates with other artists, and plays a blend of rockabilly, country rock, and bluegrass music.
With MCA Records Nashville, he had his most commercially successful period in the early to mid-1990s. Stuart has been a mainstay on the Billboard Hot Country Songs charts for over 30 years and has released more than 20 studio albums. A duet with Travis Tritt titled "The Whiskey Ain't Workin'" is his most successful chart entry.
Out of sixteen nominations, Stuart has taken home five Grammys. The Grand Ole Opry and the Country Music Hall of Fame count him among their members. Traditional country music similar to Hee Haw, Flatt & Scruggs, the Wilburn Brothers Show, and The Porter Wagoner Show is featured on The Marty Stuart Show, which Stuart hosts.
On November 1, 2008, at 8:00 pm, RFD-TV, a cable television network, premiered The Marty Stuart Show. As of 2022, no new episodes have been made for the show, but the network is airing previous episodes under the title The Best of the Marty Stuart Show.
