Marshall Tucker Band Information
The Marshall Tucker Band is a rock band with the current lineup consisting of Doug Gray, Marcus James Henderson, Chris Hicks, Rick Willis, Tony Black, and B.B. Borden. Produced by Paul Hornsby, The Marshall Tucker Band's 1973 self-titled debut was certified gold in 1975. Every song, including the 1973 hit "Can't You See" and the 1977 reissue, was written by Toy Caldwell.
The band went on tour after the CD came out, eventually doing over 300 shows annually for a decade. After the turn of the century, the Marshall Tucker Band still recorded and performed regularly, averaging between 150 and 200 gigs annually. On its new Ramblin' Records label, the band republished several albums from the '70s and two two-disc compilations: the 30-year retrospective Anthology and the country-themed Where a Country Boy Belongs.
Beyond the Horizon was their second studio album, released in 2004, followed by Carolina Christmas the following year. Their most recent studio album, The Next Adventure, came out in 2007. The 2008 Kevin Costner film Swing Vote featured "Can't You See" for its opening and closing titles. The song "Take the Highway" also appeared in the film. Both "Can't You See" and "Blow" are featured in the 2001 and 2017 movies.
