Marcus King (March 11, 1996) is a US singer, songwriter, and guitarist. He was born in Greenville, South Carolina. For a while, he was known simply as the leader of the band he co-founded and founded, The Marcus King Band. His father, Marvin King, was a famous blues guitarist and gospel musician in South Carolina. Also, his grandfather was a renowned musician in the area.
In 2019, King revealed El Dorado, his first solo album. It was recorded in Nashville's Easy Eye Studio with The Black Keys' Dan Auerbach as a producer. The record, which defies categorization, was published by Fantasy Records on January 17, 2020. Shortly after its publication, the Associated Press proclaimed, "El Dorado already stands out as a definite high point of 2020." He was one of the quickly growing musicians of his time who topped the charts with a few releases.
King's follow-up, also titled Young Blood and produced by Dan Auerbach, was released on August 26, 2022. Billboard's Melinda Newman called it "a staggeringly confident work." On Billboard's Top Blues Albums chart, it went straight to the top spot in no time.
