Mania, an annual tribute show, and The ABBA Tribute Band were created in 1999, and they made their debut that same year in the UK. The 2002 musical debuted in London's West End and performed for 18 weeks at the Strand Theatre. The production debuted German at the Deutsches Theatre Munich in the same year, running for 21 completely sold-out performances.
The play was named the best musical of 2002 by Radio Regenbogen. The musical also successfully ran across Europe, playing to sold-out houses for 24 straight performances at Berlin's Schiller Theater. With founding members of the Abba band, actors from the musical Mamma Mia, and special guest Bjorn Ulveaus, the show made its television debut in 2004.
The ABBA Tribute continues to perform to sold-out audiences worldwide, with recent international tours stopping in Tahiti, Sweden, the US, and several other nations. The shows are loaded with fans of the original band every time they perform.
