Amanda Leigh Moore (April 10, 1984) is an American actress, singer, and songwriter. She is from Nashua, New Hampshire. Moore is of Russian Jewish, Scottish, English, and Irish descent. Moore generally plays in pop-rock, pop, country, folk-rock, folk-pop, and dance-pop. She developed an interest in music from a very young age, being inspired by her maternal grandmother, Eileen Friedman. She even took acting and singing lessons.
Moore began her career by getting starred in several local productions. She used to perform National Anthem at several events arranged in Orlando. Moore went to the Stagedoor Manor performing arts camp when she was twelve years old. At the age of 14, she began creating her music and in 1998, after signing with Epic Records.
On August 17, 1999, Moore released her debut single entitled Candy. The song hit no.88 on the Billboard Hot 100. It later got gold certification by the RIAA for exceeding sales of around 500,000 copies. It also peaked no.2 on the Australian charts.
