Mama Digdowns Brass Band Information
Mama Digdown's Brass Band is an American brass band. The current lineup of the group consists of Nat Macintosh, Darren Sterud, Joe Goltz, Matt Hanzeika, Chris DiBernardo, Jordan Cohen, Ben "Kid" Bell Bern, Jeff "K-Town" Maddern, Christopher "Roc" Ohly, and Erik Jacobsen.
Music majors Erik Jacobson and Christopher "Roc" Ohly met at the University of Wisconsin–Madison and eventually went on to form the band Mama Digdown's Brass Band. It was in 1993 at the Art Fair on the Square in Madison, Wisconsin, when the band first performed together. Over the next few years, they dropped four studio albums before following up in late 2002 with a live album filmed in Madison and titled Delicious.
The band has performed concerts all around the world. Ascona, released in 2006, was recorded at a jazz festival in Switzerland. We Make 'Em Say Ooh, their fifth studio album, was released in December 2009, and the band toured in support of the album and Mardi Gras celebrations in New Orleans in the following months. In 2016, they aimed to produce a cover album titled Brass Jackson, featuring songs originally performed by Michael Jackson.
